Typically, cancer in the liver is hard to treat and cure. If you’re looking for a second opinion, some of the best for children cancer hospitals are in the US- St. Jude’s in the top, but there are many more.
If a second opinion has already been given, and she’s being encouraged to go home, I suggest being paid in touch with a hospice in the area. With liver cancer being so hard to treat, very few alternative methods are available, nor do they really help. Being paid touch with a hospice to follow her for pain control and other symptoms will help give her a excellent quality of life for whatever time is left.
Whatever the choice is, I wish you friend and her daughter, and you as well, the best in the prospect.
