Breast cancer is nearly unheard of in people below 20 and fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are below 30. Only 5% of those diagnosed with breast cancer are below 40 and 80% are over 50. The average age at diagnosis is a small over 60.

There was a girl of ten diagnosed with breast cancer; it was a very rare form, more likely to occur in children rather than an ‘adult’ cancer.

The case made headlines world wide because of its EXTREME rarity.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was classed as ‘young’; I was 50

It really can be at any age if you are predisposed to it from a family member
