If you don’t like that approach, I don’t know if you sing you could do Melissa Etheridge. She is in recovery from Breast Cancer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgiwrvEX8wY

Everyday women die. Children lose their mothers. Young Mothers…young children.

Your class should not be bored. Chances are a name in your class…their family has been touched by this cancer.

My Mother-in -law has had a recurrence of her cancer which has metastasized to her brain. She only has a few months left.

breast cancer is a malignant tumor that grows in one or both of the breast. Breast cancer ordinarily develops in the ducts or lobules of the breast. The breast is made up of lobules, ducts, full of stout tissue, blood vessels, lymph vessels, muscles, and nerves. The lobules are tiny sacs that make milk during breast feeding. The ducts are tubes that carry milk from the lobules to the nipple. The full of stout tissue surrounds the lobules and ducts to provide support. Lymph vessels carry lymph to lymph nodes in the underarm, above the collar bone, and the chest. There is also lymph nodes located throughout the body. The body is made up of billions of cells that form our tissues and organs. In most organs cells are replaced on a regular basis, allowing each organ to continue to function naturally. During this process the cells that die are replaced by new ones. Occasionally cells are replaced by abnormal cells, which grow in an uncontrolled way. As a result there is an abnormal growth or lump of cells that form tumor. As they increase in size, benign tumors can present as a lump in the breast. There are 2 kinds of breast tumors. Noncancerous tumors (benign) and cancerous tumors (malignant). If breast cancer is left untreated the cells may metastasize from the main tumor and journey to other parts of the body, commonly the bones, liver, lungs, or brain.
